About The Bungalow Guesthouse
The Bungalow Guesthouse’s current role as a bespoke wedding destination, corporate retreat, and venue for family gatherings ,social get togethers or special one day events such as birthdays or wakes builds on a century steeped in history where the homestead has enjoyed various incarnations over the course of its lengthy life.
The Guesthouse was built in about 1926. It catered for family vacations where families shared with other families and all their meals were catered for. At this time there was a significant market garden on the roadside. Many dances were held and for locals it was a favorite location. In the 1930s a 9 hole golf course was built. There was an annual race with 4 players spread across the course with the challenge to complete the course as quickly as possible. The record was just over 6 minutes! You can still see some of the layout
Golf ceased around 2000 and the Guesthouse was fully renovated but care was taken to preserve the original layout and interiors.
The Guesthouse and its grounds have now been returned to use as the private venue for the ultimate family getaway, rustic wedding, or corporate retreat and welcomes the creation of further memories within its historic walls.
